Divyalakshmi Ramakrishna

Faculty

Divyalakshmi Ramakrishna is currently working as a Scientific Manager at Rhenix LifeSciences. She has been responsible for writing scientific content on healthcare-related topics. She also focuses on writing scientific white papers, clinical white papers, clinical updates, disease summaries, blogs, review articles and recent advances in the management of the diseases specialized in the field of oncology, and neurology along with proofreading the content.

Divyalakshmi has a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral Medicine and Radiology, from the Bangalore Institute of Health Sciences, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. Before joining Rhenix, she worked as an Associate Professor at D. A. Pandu Memorial R.V. Dental College and Hospital, Bangalore, India.

At Rhenix, she has been managing multiple teams and handling multiple projects at various stages right from creation of prototypes, to planning, coordination, execution and finally ensuring to meet the deliverables. Thus she has gained managerial, operational as well as scientific writing experiences.

Repurposing Metabolic Regulators: Antidiabetic Drugs as Anticancer Agents; Dhas, Yogita, Nupur Biswas, Divyalakshmi M.R., Lawrence D. Jones, and Shashaanka Ashili; Molecular Biomedicine 5 (1): 40 (2024).

Drug repurposing attempts to utilize alternative therapeutic potential of existing therapeutic drugs. This strategy offers several advantages over traditional drug discovery, which includes reduced costs, reduced development timelines, and a lower risk of adverse effects. This article reviews current insights into the repurposing of antidiabetic drugs, including metformin, SGLT2 inhibitors, DPP-4 inhibitors, GLP- 1R agonists, TZD, and α glucosidase inhibitors, against various types of cancers.
